Adding Expenses

The expense modal includes a hierarchical category picker, amount with built-in calculator, account selector, date picker, and recurring toggle. Assign an expense to an account to automatically adjust its balance.

Receipt Entry

Add multiple expenses at once using the receipt entry mode. Enter line items with amounts and categories, and they're all saved together under a shared date, account, and merchant. Tax is calculated per item based on your default tax rate in Settings.

AI Category Suggestions

When adding an expense, the category picker learns from your history. Type a description and it auto-suggests the most likely category. If no match is found, AI will suggest creating a new subcategory under the right parent, or matching to an existing one you might not have thought of.

AI Category Reorganize

In the category picker, tap the gear icon to enter manage mode, then tap AI Reorganize. AI analyzes your entire category tree and suggests improvements:

  • MovesMisplaced categories that belong under a different parent
  • MergesDuplicate categories to combine (expenses are migrated automatically)
  • New parentsGrouping categories to create for better organization

Review each suggestion, uncheck any you disagree with, or type feedback to refine the proposals before applying.

Account Filter

Filter your transaction list by account using the dropdown next to the search bar. Useful for reviewing spending on a specific credit card or from a particular bank account.

Expenses assigned to an account automatically reduce that account's balance. This keeps your balances in sync without manual updates.
